Deliveries

Carpets are delivered in their factory packaging, usually on the cardboard/plastic core as we receive them, to maintain the best condition of the goods - these cannot be removed and are required should there be any problem. Some carpets do come without a core, or on bent cores, but it is always the same way that the goods are dispatched from the suppliers. In order to offer faster delivery, sometimes we will have the carpet re-rolled.

All deliveries are to ground floor locations only - delivery drivers will not be able to take items upstairs, including to flats/apartments beyond ground floor level (you will be required to make your own arrangements for such locations). Though we try to deliver all items ourselves, we reserve the right to deliver using a courier. The delivery should be inside of front door, into a garage, or any other easily accessible entry point. Please inform us if there is any potential issue that can cause a delivery to not be completed such as entrance problems, limited parking space, vehicle restrictions, or any other factors. If the goods cannot be taken inside of the property safely, the standard procedure would be that the goods are returned to us to reschedule - we aim to have all items delivered to the residence and do not wish for them to be left outside exposed to the elements. Should a second delivery be required due to problems accessing the property on the initial attempt, there was nobody available to take the delivery at the address, or any other such reason, Big Red Carpet Company reserves the right to charge a £35.00 re-delivery fee. If the goods can not fit into the property safely and they have been ordered specially, we cannot be held liable for any delays this may cause.

All 4-metre and 5-metre widths will be a one-man delivery. When delivering a piece of carpet over 30m² or 70kg, Big Red Carpet Company reserves the right to deliver the piece of carpet to an easily accessible location due to both the potential weight and size of a piece of carpet to prevent causing damage to either the goods or the property. The delivery driver should be equipped to manage the delivery of any order - Big Red cannot be held responsible if the customer offers to assist

All deliveries must be accepted by an adult aged 18 years or over. It is the customer's responsibility to check all goods. We would respectfully point out that all goods must be inspected by the customer within 48 hours of delivery and thoroughly checked before cutting or fitting of carpet takes place. Big Red Carpet Company cannot be held liable for any damage that is noticed after delivery has occurred. If a carpet is found to be faulty or short in length, this must be reported within 7 days of receipt of delivery and must be reported prior to the carpet being cut by you/your fitter as claims resulting from visible effects cannot be entertained by suppliers over a prolonged length of time or after fitting has occurred.

All timescales given on our website regarding deliveries are to be used as a guideline only. We shall make every effort possible to meet these timescales, however, delays can occur due to circumstances that are not always under our control. We therefore cannot be under any liability for any delays or failure to deliver within the estimated timescale given, and as such we advise not to arrange things with a fitter until you have received the goods.
